Black Hussar 28mm French

Coming out soon are these miniatures from German manufacturer Black Hussar. I think these are a well researched set and worth tracking down for the FandI.   More on my Wars of Louis Quatorze blog

In a turning point in the War of 1812, the British fail to capture Baltimore. During the battle, Francis Scott Key composes his poem "Defence of Fort McHenry", which is later set to music and becomes the United States' national anthem.

Battle of North Point 1814

Wiki
Pic by Don Troiani. Bicentennial for this battle.
The Battle of North Point was fought on September 12, 1814, between General John Stricker's Maryland Militia and a British force led by Major General Robert Ross. Although the Americans retreated, they were able to do so in good order having inflicted significant casualties on the British, killing one of the commanders of the invading force, significantly demoralizing the troops under his command and leaving some of his units lost among woods and swampy creeks, with others in confusion. This combination prompted British colonel Arthur Brooke to delay his advance against Baltimore, buying valuable time to properly prepare for the defense of the city as Stricker retreated back to the main defenses to bolster the existing force. The engagement was a part of the larger Battle of Baltimore, an American victory in the War of 1812. WIKI

Wargames Factory American Militia

From the FB page. 28mm hard plastic
Northstar are taking orders.They say
This box set contains 30 highly detailed multi-part plastic miniatures representing volunteer militia that fought for both freedom and in defense of His Majesty King George. The sprues contain militia wearing both 18th Century civilian clothes and the fringed hunting shirts “frocks” with buckskin trousers and moccasins. There are options for the militia to carry muskets or the longer, more accurate rifled musket and there are three headgear options including the tricorne hat, round hat, and knit cap or ‘liberty’ cap.
The box includes three sprues of militia with arms and options to create officers, musicians, and equip the soldiers with tomahawks. There are enough plastic bases for all 30 miniatures and the militia parts are interchangeable with other kits in the American War of Independence range allowing for dynamic and creative options.
