New Thomsomfeld diorama

Here's something different for you - a diorama based on the Anza expedition to California in 1773. Here's some links that were useful in the making and preparation.

  1. I've lived on the DeAnza trail my entire life, it's amazing how far he traveled and through such diverse climates. The deserts are especially astonishing. There is a series of canyons formed by water and wind beneath a place called Font's Point, named for one of the priests in his expedition. When walking through these canyons in winter, there was literally no noise. No animals, no wind, no distant tires on asphalt, it was astonishing. Gives you an appreciation for what they experienced.
