Régiment de Soissonnais
Grenadier by Don Troiani. A few posts on the much neglected French army of the Revwar period. A list on this blog itemises all the casualties of the French in Virginia.
Incidentally Soisonnais wore linen breeches - according to this quote from an excellent blog the Eighteenth century reading room.
The regiment of Soissonnais has in all this tedious march, had the fewest stragglers and sick of any other; –one of the principal causes was, without doubt, the precaution of the Colonel, who, on purpose for the campaign, had linen breeches made for his whole regiment.
