Assassin's Creed III redcoats

Let's have another look at the Italian Redcoats raised last year for the launch of the console game Assassin's Creed III. As you can see they did an amazing job in the time allowed. Let's hope we see more of them in the future. Not sure who took the image but get in touch and I'll give you credit for this skilful photo.

  1. Gosh, enlarging the image really brings out the former 10th Foot NCO in me. June, 1775 and everybody ought to look fresh out of peacetime garrison perfect, all according to the 1768 warrant except for known documented variations. They don't. All that facial hair. Highlanders in Boston in June 1775. Too many little details wrong to single out without writing a volume. Yes it is an impressively large body of troops with a fairly uniform appearance. No penny packet companies like reenactment groups. Just wish they had paid more attention to the little details. Have not been able to analyze their drill to see if they got that right. But shouldered firelocks should be virtually perpendicular to the ground, not at a 30 degree angle. Looked at the battle videos but they are taken from too far away and from behind the troops so you really can't pinpoint anything.

A good first effort but they have a long way to go.

  2. Fair comments I am sure they are improving still and would welcome criticism

  3. I would be interested to know more about the image. The Highlanders (other than the couple of flank company chaps) are wearing F&I era uniforms, not Rev War.
