I am sure I saw this group and their canoes at Metro Beach. They canoe up and down the shores of Lake Huron and camp on the beach sleeping in their big lake (or Gitchi Goomi) canoes.
ReplyDeleteMetro Beach is a large park on Lake St. Clair very near Detroit. Inside the visitor center there is a large mural depicting the expedition to explore the Michigan Territory. The mural depicts them beaching their canoes at what today is Metro Beach park.
