June 19 1778
General Washington and the army officially broke camp at Valley Forge and marched toward the British army. The Army had survived varying weather, lack of food, lack of clothing, crippling disease epidemics and all the while went through a new training and drill program initiated by Baron Von Steuben. The Army that emerged was smaller but stronger and for the first time was prepared to fight the British toe to toe.
