Thomsomfeld sent me this image quite a while ago and I kind of ignored it as I thought it too fanciful but having seen the Thomas Davies Ranger picture I feel that this may have some historical basis. Apologies all round.

ReplyDeletenicest image one can dream of :) - great reconstruction I must add, and perhaps to better understand this illustration and research behind it, one needs to go back to mr Zaboly's books on the subject and study carefully his Benedictine research as evidenced in his fantastic artwork on this very subject.
