This is my wife and I's favorite movie of ALL TIME. She and I can damn near quote the entire movie verbatim. Great acting by Daniel Day Lewis, Russell Means, Eric Schweig, and especially Wes Studi. I had read the book in high school and that was when my lifelong fascination with the "frontier" and the life of the frontiersmen. Daniel Day Lewis's performance as Nathaniel Hawkeye was impressive, but not nearly as incredible as the portrayal of Magua by Wes Studi. Not a perfect movie by any means, but still a game-changer when it came to depicting the brutal fighting that occurred and the convoluted politics that existed during the SYW/FIW.
