I don't want you all thinking that I am totally against Rangers and just going to write about Canadians. That would be a bit boring, so I am going to try and get a theme going of 'Rangers', and to kick it off one of the most famous. Originally
Gorham’s Indian Rangers of the Deep Woods this unit was in service for quite a few years, with action at the siege of Louisbourg, Plains of Abraham and even took part in an expedition to Havana
. Led initially by
John Gorham until his death from smallpox in London in 1751 when he was succeeded by his brother Joseph.
