Les Mousquets du roi

My favourite French marine unit recreates the troops of the 1690s. They do it very well. From Montreal. If you live in the region why not join up?

    Biloxi, Mississippi was founded in 1699 by the French. Until Hurricane Katrina, we had a recreated portion of Fort Maurepaus and a couple of stalwarts in wool marine uniforms held tours of the fort even during the hot summers by the Fort Maurepaus Society of which I was a member. Note that the area of the was later known as Ocean Springs since the 1850s.
